DDS Second Playthrough--through Power Station

Roland's little speech, as Megananda is catching up? Bothered me SO BAD the first time I played through. Like, SERIOUSLY JUST PULL THE LEVER ENOUGH SOLILOQUIZING DO SOMETHING ARGH. This time though...I think it may be partially from reading Mith's and Puella's versions of Roland, but...he's scared in that scene, isn't he? Not just self-pitying and wallowing in his own guilt--he's scared, and trying to make up for his past screw-ups, and fully aware of how utterly unprepared he is to accomplish anything. I. Er. <3

Also, re:Sera and the magically appearing water crown, and the question of when Serph and Sera's connection begins. Is it possible that, rather than the real Serph, the Serph that Sera creates is based on her own Animus (for lack of a better way of putting it)? That is--Serph is essentially the part of Sera that she sees as strong and trustworthy and...er, masculine, I guess, if you're in the mind of a very traumatized little girl? This might explain some of how the others respond to Serph as well. That would also maybe explain why Argilla relying on her, and asking her to pull herself together would prompt "Serph" to surface in Sera at this point. I don't know.

Argilla is fantastic. The faces, as she and Gale just look at each other--their experiences are so similar, even though they have sort of very different ways of responding to it--lovers who die, people they have unfinished business with, relationships that sort of come along after their OTP gets broken apart. I'd like to see some more genfic with the two of them, or the two of them and Roland. *snuggs*

AND IN THE NEXT DUNGEON?
Gale, to Sera: I'll remain on your side, even if the whole world turns against you. AL:KDJGL:HGD:LGKJ GALE ILUSM. This is my loyalty!kink. It says, Y HALO THAR, Mr. GALE. <3

Also, damn I love this game so much. And getting to look at Gale's ass this whole dungeon? Not such a bad thing. <3

I totally stared at Gale's ass the entire time he was party leader. :3

And yeah. ♥ for Roland.

Appropriate icon is appropriate.

Right? The little bit of black knit stuff over it, just perfectly framed by the paler body-armor stuff? I don't honestly see how anyone could not stare unless they're staring at his calves, which also deserve the love.

*griiiin* That's totally why I love Roland -- he knows he's not a hero (or he's convinced himself that he isn't one), and he's scared of being a hero and he knows he's going to die and that scares him, too, but he does it. In spite of all his misgivings and all of his insecurities, he does it.

Why yes I am a shameless Roland fangirl.

And I agree that AI!Serph is very much a projection of Sera's desires -- her ideal male, even though she doesn't have a complete understanding of what that means because she's all of seven -- rather than the real Serph. I think that's true of all of the Embryon, really, with the possible exception of Gale -- they're all facets of how she views the world, and the kinds of things she wants in it.

I think I have Roland-and-Argilla-and-Gale gen percolating for the next round of KF.

Well--I mean, he's weak, and he's scared, but--and this is the part that I missed the first time--he has his pride, once Gale shames him into trying again. He's not backing down from anything, even if he can't do much but die once he faces it. He doens't run away, and you kind of have to respect that.

I guess most little kids--she's seven now right? So she'd be four when she created them?--don't see others as other people anyway, just as facets or extensions of themselves. Still, it's an interesting possibility to me because I keep trying to figure out who Seraph is, and at what point sie was present in Sera and in Serph. I mean. There's an obvious answer, but...if they're parts of the same greater being, then what were they before, and how much of that connection was already potential in them? It's a part of the story I don't really get yet.

OMG that sounds awesome. *looks forward to*
